Culinary Arts Degree Programs

The following is just a little information on the culinary arts degree programs offered by our schools. To find out more about particular degree programs offered by each school click on the school links located towards the bottom of this page.

Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts

Many culinary arts programs combine lecture and lab time to give students a complete education in the art and science of creating meals. Coursework begins with introductory courses in baking, pastry, and food science. As studies progress, students take classes in American Regional Cuisine, International Cuisine, and Wine and Spirits. They are also exposed to management topics, including cost control, restaurant operations, and management and safety.

Culinary art degree programs are led by chefs with experience in the Phoenix area, including the only certified master chef in Arizona. The school offers both day and evening classes.

Art of Cooking Diploma Program

Students who want to develop their culinary and food sciences skills without completing an entire degree program will be interested in the Art of Cooking diploma program. Over nine months, students learn essential skills, including baking and pastry, plating and presentation, soup stocks, poultry, meat, fish, and shellfish.

Baking & Pastry Arts Certificate Program

Many of our academies offer an intensive program designed for those interested in professional baking and pastry. The 30-week Baking & Pastry Arts Certificate Program provides a comprehensive study of baking and pastry to prepare you for various positions at bakeries, pastry shops, restaurants, hotels, and the rapidly growing segment of in-store supermarket bakeries. The program emphasizes the hands-on application of fundamental techniques and ingredients.

Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality & Restaurant Management Degree Program

An Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree in Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality & Restaurant Management. Combining instruction in theory with hands-on training, the program prepares you for a management career in a hotel, restaurant, casino, or cruise ship.

The 45 week comprehensive course of instruction includes training in:

  • Hospitality Management practices, including front of the house and back of the house operations

"I entered the culinary art program as a hobby and possibly a career change from nursing... We were able to learn from instructors... while developing our own style and palate...the small class size also fostered the development of long lasting friendships with the other students."
